This game was a pitchers DREAM for the Lady Panthers. Specifically Sophmore Pitcher Iselah Johnson, who pitched an outstanding complete game shutout striking out 9 and only giving up only 4 hits in all 7 innings of play. At the plate she went 1-2, reaching on a fielders choice in the 1st, and a scorching fast single in the 3rd. In a recent Interview she said, “I think the umpire had a small strike zone so I mainly focused on getting batters to ground out and pop up rather than strikeout”.

The offense started hot in the 1st and 2nd innings but went quiet the rest of the game. In the 1st inning, the Lady Panthers scored on an rbi single by the right fielder Brianna Vann, scoring the center fielder Jacie Patterson.

In the second inning, the Lady Panthers knocked in 2, one of them on a throwing error by the Mesquite Horn pitcher, after some tricky bait baserunning by the second baseman Sadie Lomas, which helped score Catcher Bella Morales and she also scored on a sacrifice groundout by the shortstop Julisel (Sissy) Favela.

Overall the Lady Panthers scored 3 runs and gave up only 4 hits while striking out 9 in all 7.0 innings of play as the Duncanville Lady Panthers Shutout the Mesquite Horn Jaguars 3-0, The Lady Panthers improve to 8-4 in District play and 18-11-4 overall. The Jaguars fall to 9-3 in district and 13-13-1 overall. “Going into the playoffs I think every game will be competitive as long as we play together”. First baseman Madison Lee in a recent interview.
