Naomi Pena pitched a full 7.0 innings, allowing 3 hits and only giving up one run and striking out 4 over her 7 innings with only one walk, coming in the bottom of the 7th. For the offensive side, she went 2-3 as the Skeeter’s leadoff hitter, with a single in the 1st, getting to second on a dropped pitch, and scoring after an error on the 3rd baseman. She had a triple in the 5th but the offense did nothing with it.
Despite their efforts, the Lady Panthers offense was slightly quiet, only muscling 3 hits and only 1 run scored, but one player that was unaffected was the second baseman Sadie Lomas, who went 2-3 with back-to-back triples in the 2nd and 4th innings, despite not scoring on either of them.

The Lady Panthers also struggled early on the pitching side and on defense despite only having 2 errors under Mesquite’s 3. Iselah Johnson started the first 2.0 innings giving up 2 hits, 2 runs, and 2 walks, whilst having 3 strikeouts.
The first baseman Madison Lee relieved Johnson in the 3rd, as Johnson went to first base, to slow down the Skeeters offense, in which she did just that. The Alabama State commit pitched the rest of the 5.0 innings, stirring up 7 strikeouts and giving up only 2 hits but unfortunately hit 2 batters. The Skeeters ended up scoring one more time in the 6th after a foul out to right field and a wild throw to 3rd causing the Skeeter’s Leanna Ario (who pinch ran for the third baseman Kiara Jackson after being hit by a pitch in the arm), to score off of the wild throw.

Overall the Lady Panthers got 3 hits only scoring 1 run with 2 errors and 2 stolen bases, and the Skeeters getting 4 hits scoring 3 runs and committing 3 errors as the Duncanville Lady Panthers lost a close one to the Mesquite Skeeters 3-1 dropping their 2nd straight game, losing 6-7 to the Mesquite Horn Jaguars the previous day. The Lady Panthers’ record now stands at 13-10-3.
