The highly anticipated high school football showdown between the Duncanville Panthers and the South Oak Cliff Golden Bears is scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Duncanville High School.
This game marks the first meeting between the two teams in the 2025 season. Duncanville, led by head coach Reginald Samples, is aiming for its third consecutive state title. The Panthers boast a powerful offense featuring four-star tight end Zachery Turner, three-star receiver Ayson Theus, and top-ranked 2027 receiver Trenton Yancey. Their defense is equally impressive, anchored by two of the state’s top pass rushers, four-star Landon Barnes and four-star KJ Ford, along with a strong secondary led by four-star safety Braylon Edwards and three-star cornerback Victor Lincoln. However, Duncanville will need to replace key players like quarterback Keelon Russell and star wide receiver Dakorien Moore.
South Oak Cliff, under head coach Jason Todd, aims to reassert its dominance in Class 5A Division II. The Golden Bears have a rich history of success, including state championships in 2021 and 2022, and will be eager to challenge the reigning 6A champions and make a strong statement early in the season.
