The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong is a new series that had came out April 2011. Armstrong has been New York Times’ Bestseller with her Darkest Powers Series. Now she is back with a different characters but continuing with the same plot. I knew this book wouldn’t disappoint me. Kelley has brought out the chills down my spine. With her creative characters and unforgettable storyline. Kelley puts Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series into shame.

Maya lives with her adoptive parents in a small town in Vancouver Island. It’s an isolated area that doesn’t even appear on a map. In this little town you wouldn’t expect something strange happening. Until now. The captain of the swim team dies a drowning death. And mountain lions start appearing out around her house. A reporter is sneaking around asking strange questions. What is there to hide here? Maya doesn’t know but she is going to find out. The one thing that throws Maya off is the new student that has an eye for her. Or more like for her faded paw-print birthmark.

This book was twisted and awesome. Kelley has brought out creative characters. Characters that make you express so many facial express. This book will make you actually feel like you are in the story. I think Kelley will bring a lot of fans with this new series. I absolutely fell for this book. And I can’t wait for the next.
