On Friday, September 19, 2025, Waxahachie pulled off a thrilling 28-27 upset against No. 4 Duncanville. Duncanville led 27-9 in the third quarter, powered by long touchdown passes and a pick-six. But Waxahachie rallied behind QB Jerry Meyer III’s two touchdown throws and a key one-yard run by Nolan Barnard, taking the lead with under four minutes left. Duncanville’s final attempt fell short, handing Waxahachie their third straight win and dropping Duncanville to 1-1.
