Panthers Dominate Tigers
September 4, 2019
Hype and loud fans filled the stands to see two teams battle it out on the field last Friday night as both teams would play their first official games to kick off the 2019 season.
The Panthers won against the Tigers with a dominating defensive performance, as they locked up and shut down Lancaster’s offense for most of the game leading to a 24-3 victory.
Duncanville’s steadfast defense would hold Lancaster to only 196 yards of total offense, 11 first downs, 113 rushing yards on 33 attempts, and an average of 3.4 Yds per rush.
Duncanville quarterback Ja’Quinden Jackson threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns, including a 88-yard score to open up the second half
Even though Duncanville trailed 3-0 in the opening quarter, the Panthers would still have the last say, as they would score the final 24 points of the game.
Lancasters only points would come from a 29-yard field goal by David Aguilera in the first quarter further cementing how strong Duncanville’s defense was during the game.
Head Coach Reginald Samples had somewhat good praises for their performance this game, describing it as “A bit better, as we did better against the pass on defense and was more successful throwing the football on offense”.
One of his main focuses would be reducing the amount of penalties and, having his team become more “mentally focused”.
Duncanville’s next opponent will be at home against the South Oak Cliff Golden Bears who are coming off a 21-22 win against Skyline
