Fettuccine Alfredo
Ingredients
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 slice of garlic
1 teaspoon grated lemon (if wanted)
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
Kosher salt as desired
2 tablespoons of cream cheese
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
12 ounces fresh fettuccine
Pepper if wanted
(for more flavor add a rotisserie chicken) you can buy these cooked at Kroger or Walmart
Instruction
Sauce: in a medium pot melt butter on low add garlic and grated lemon if wanted
cook until garlic is soft
Then add the flour and stir with a wooden spoon
Add the milk and salt, whisk until thickened
Add the cream cheese and parmesan cheese; whisk these until melted then add in the parsley
Pasta: In a large pot bring salted water to a boil
Then add the fettuccine and cook until beginning to soften (not yet soft) reserve 1 cup of cooking water
Drain pasta
Add sauce and 1/2 cup of cooking water to pasta
Gently stir or toss
season as needed
and enjoy!
