Duncanville has earned a date with number 1 Allen in the regional final game, and did so in exciting fashion against a strong Arlington Bowie team in a hard fought contest. After completing a fourth quarter comeback Duncanville earned a chance to play at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Saturday at 2 p.m against an undefeated Allen team who is very familiar with the stadium while this group of Panthers have never played there.

Bowie had the lead the after the first quarter 21-7 and had a 21-10 lead after halftime, putting Duncanville in a tough spot early.  But Duncanville inched and clawed their way back scoring a touchdown in the third quarter and finally took their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter 24-21. This came after Bowie fumbled on their 15 yard line. Bowie would go on and take the lead again after a touchdown rush that gave them a 27-24 margin but the extra point attempt was blocked and returned reducing the score to 27-26. Duncanville then goes on to score one final touchdown that would seal them the win with the final score of 32-27.

Senior Wide Receiver Tre Siggers had a huge game with 138 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. He was a very valuable asset for a Duncanville offense that was in need of a spark in this game.  They will need the same contributions from Siggers this week to secure a win.

Duncanville will have a tough challenge in an undefeated Allen football team but it is not anything new for this year’s team.  Duncanville has fought their way up to this point after losing their star quarterback midseason. “Why not win it all?” is what players have been saying leading up to this game. In just two seasons as the Panther coach, Reginald Samples has moved this team from a 3-7 debut last year to an 11-2 season so far. Samples has this team in shape and ready to face the best and this week the rankings show we will be facing just that.

This team has been the best that it has been in a long time and they have a chance to do bigger things for this school and this football program. Duncanville will come out to play and Allen will have to be ready. This Panther offense has been dynamic all season and they are red hot right now. While no one is picking the Panthers to upset Allen, only time will tell what will be the outcome of this game at AT&T Stadium Saturday at 2 p.m.
