Duncanville a Win Away from Postseason Berth
Tomorrow night Duncanville will take on the Gophers from Grand Prairie as they are one win away from their first postseason berth for the first time since 2011. The Panthers have fought and grinded all season long and have put themselves in a position to bring back playoff football to the school.
After last week’s impressive and dominating performance against a winless Irving Macarthur team last Friday, the Panthers have Grand Prairie to defeat at home tomorrow night. Grand Prairie are currently just behind Duncanville in the District 7-6A standings, so a win at home during Senor night will indefinitely seal that covenant playoff spot.
Duncanville beat the Irving Macarthur team without their Senior Quarterback Jaylin Nelson, who was on the sidelines watching his team, after having his season end due to injury. Junior Trezon Connley stepped up and filled into the role as quarterback and did it impressively. Connley completed 13-14 passes for 174 yards while recording three passing touchdowns in the process. Senior Receiver Mackendrick Jackson had a solid game, as he recorded a pair of receiving touchdowns and 109 yards.
Duncanville’s defense was impressive once again as they shut the Irving Macarthur team out the entire game. The defense held Macarthur to a total of just 113 yards and two turnovers. A very solid and impressive performance from the Duncanville defense.
After winning beating Macarthur, Duncanville is sparked with momentum going into the game against Grand Prairie tomorrow night. A win against GP will even heighten that momentum heading into the playoffs, which is huge for a sports teams. Championship teams just get hot at the right time and Duncanville is looking to click and carry that red hot momentum going forward.
