Voting day is around the corner, stay informed on who will be your next president. So choose wisely. down below is information about the candidates and their opinions on certain issues. We wanted to break this down for our first time high school voters and those who may have voted before.

Democratic Candidate: Hillary Clinton

Family

Hillary Clinton was born October 26th 1947 to Hugh Rodham and Dorothy Emma Howell Rodham. Hillary has two brother, Hugh Rodham Jr.and Anthony Rodham. Clinton’s parents were fabric store owners.

School Life

Hillary attended three colleges, Wellesley College, Yale Law school , last Yale Child Study Center. Hillary had multiple accomplishments throughout her college days; she was senior class president at Wellesley, Graduated from Yale Law School with honors in 1973 and that’s also where she met her husband of many years Bill Clinton. At Yale Child Study Center, she took courses on children and medicine.

Marriage & Children

Hillary Clinton is married to former president Bill Clinton. They met at Yale’s Law School; got married in 1975 on October 11th.They had a at home wedding. They have one daughter together, named Chelsea Victoria Clinton she was born 5 years after the clintons got married. Also Hillary has stayed with Bill despite his many affairs and scandals.

Clinton was a busy lady back then and now she was very into politics and campaigning. Hillary has many things ranging from a government official to College teacher.

In 1964 Hillary got into politics and started to campaign for Barry Goldwater.
After hearing Rev. Martin Luther King speak she changed her views on certain things.
In 1968 Hillary made her official switch from republican to democrat.
In 1971 Hillary worked on U.S. senator Walter Mondale’s Subcommittee on migrant workers.
In 1972 she worked in the western state campaigning for George McGovern.
In 1974 she was a member of the Presidential Impeachment Inquiry staff.
After President Nixon resigned she taught at the University of Arkansas Law School. (that was also where her husband Bill worked as a teacher as well).

Also in 1977 she was appointed to part-time chairman of Legal Services Corporation by President Carter
Since Bill was elected Governor in 1978,hillary was the first lady and as first lady she did many things like Co-found foundations , chair a few committees and serve on boards for companies and foundations.
In 1988 and 1991 she was named America’s most powerful lawyers by The National Journal.
In 1992 she was appointed to head the Task Force on National Health Reform by her Husband who was president at the time.
In 1999 she decided to take a run at the New York U.S, senate seat. She won and won the reelection for that seat in 2006.

Republican Candidate: Donald Trump

Family

Donald Trump was born June 14th in 1946 to Frederick C. Trump and Mary Macleod Trump. Frederick Trump was a builder and real estate developer. Donald has four siblings, Fred Trump, Robert Trump, Elizabeth Trump and Maryanne Trump.

School Life

Trump was sent to a New York Military School at age 13. He went to Fordham University for two years then transferred to Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with a degree in economics.

Marriage & Children

Donald Trump has five children, two ex-wives and a wife. Trump children with his first wife Ivana is Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump. Next there is Tiffany Trump who he shares with second wife Marla Maples. Last is Barron Trump who he shares with his current with Melania Trump.Trump was married Ivana from 1977 to 1992, he was married to Marla Maples from 1993 to 1999 and Trump got married his current wife in 2015.
