The Theatre Department will be presenting this year’s annual fall show “A Bad Year For Tomatoes” this Oct. 20-21 at 7 p.m. with a special Sunday Matinee at 2 p.m. in the blackbox. All ticket prices are  $5 and teachers get in for free with their employee badge.

Senior Ayana Reed who has the main role as Myra Marlowe says  with such a welcoming cast  the environment and people were pleasant to be around.

“I think the casting for this show was beyond perfect,” Reed said. “ I’ve worked with many of these talented thespians before so there was a good chemistry already set.”

Reed says that a job well done with memorization and polishing the act was a reward in itself.

“The best part of rehearsals in my opinion is when we finally get all the lines and blocking memorized,” Reed said. “ Once this is out of the way, we really get to discover more about our character.”

With such a an amazing talent Reed says it’s hard to not be charmed with the cast.

“Behind the scenes is nothing but good times and laughs all around,” Reed said. “ One of the perks of having the talent to entertain an audience means that we can especially entertain each other.”

With the audience having such an impact on the cast Reed is more than overjoyed when the cast are able to see and hear when the audience is with them and enjoying all the hard work put into making a production.

“When I hear the positive feedback from the audience, I instantly begin to feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that all our hard work is paying off, “ said Reed.

Reed hopes everyone will come out and enjoy a night of comedy with the cast and crew who have put in much effort to make the show a success.

“This show, though a bit old fashion, will guarantee to have all audience members laughing with delight,” Reed said. “There was so much dedication and effort put into this show that we all want to share this with as many people as we can.”
