Varsity soccer boys tie Irving Tigers in Duncanville Classic
The varsity soccer boys faced the Irving Tigers yesterday in rigorous match, and walked away with a 1-1 tie in the second game of the Duncanville Classic. The goal came off a strong shot from freshmen Jason Cruz.
Coach Nunos Passos admits the team started off the game rough, but he moved them to a strong game plan to stay in the game.
“Don’t let them get around you make them not want to face you,” Passos told his team during the break. “If you take away their will they will give up.”
With just a few minutes left in play, Passos continued to push his players to their maximum potential but Irving was able to squeeze a ball underneath to score sending the game to a tie.
“You don’t have to play perfect you just have to play positive,” Passos said. “You play better when you play together.”
